The Five Things We're Grabbing at Sales Right Now

Ok it’s Friday which means…it’s time to hit the garage sales! Here are five things that we’re snatching up at sales right now..

  • Vintage printer's trays - They're usually pretty easy to find and this one was only $5 at an estate sale! I'm using mine right now for my jewelry because it’s exactly what I needed for my earrings, rings and small trinkets.

  • Retro art - Our 70’s house is definitely influencing our picks and this just felt like it belonged over our bar. Add some booze and the sparkles from my mini disco ball and this bar’s poppin. This bar + the wicker, fur & random retro around here is why our style is kind of…”Stevie Nicks after party at the beach house”. Is that a thing? It should be.

  • Indian/Moroccan style pieces - We found this carved wood screen at a garage sale! We already had the smaller one, so we took that apart and added it to the sides to make it one large piece. No matter how we decorate, I always need a few pieces that look like I just got back from Morocco.

  • Trays - Add wood, metal, lucite or woven trays to vignettes for texture, interest, height, warmth…plus it just makes it more fun. I use this vintage carved wood tray on my bathroom counter for all my potions, sprays and scrubs. It’s not hoarder-y, it’s collected.

  • Wicker, Bamboo & Rattan - I love this stuff and it makes me happy that it's such a big deal right now! Anything from big pieces like sofas or coffee tables to small pieces like lamps, side chairs and baskets…it all adds a retro, bohemian feel. I just wish we still had that 1970's rattan hanging chair we had when I was little...

That’s my shopping list, show me yours!

See you on the road,
